Energy Action Month Lunch and Learn: Owning an Electric Vehicle and the Future of EV Technology, November 1st, 12-1pm

Please join us in the NACA Room (IESB, B2102) on Wednesday November 1st from 12pm-1pm for a lunch and learn opportunity in recognition of Energy Action Month!
LaRC’s own Dr. Bruce Wielicki will be presenting on the future of electric vehicles:

Owning an Electric Vehicle and the Future of EV Technology

“My wife and I have owned a Tesla Model S electric car (no gas engine) for over 2 years and 63,000 miles, including many long distance trips of 1000 miles or longer. The bottom line is that even if it saved no energy or cost, I would never buy a gas car again. But long distance battery electric cars also save energy, reduce pollution, save time, and cost less to own.”

Don’t miss this presentation that will summarize driving and living with an electric car, charging it (local and long distance), compare maintenance, lifetime, and costs with comparable performance gas cars, and discuss the future of electric vehicle technology.

The tipping point has arrived in the transition from gas to electric vehicles.
