Reporting Water Pollution

Illicit discharges are not allowed on Center. All LaRC employees shall report any suspected illicit discharges and/or illegal dumping activities.

Illicit discharge = Water Pollution

An illicit discharge is a discharge to the storm drain system that is not composed entirely of stormwater (i.e. rain and snow). They are considered “illicit” because the storm drain system is not designed to accept, process, or discharge non-stormwater wastes, except for specific discharges allowed under LaRC’s VPDES permit. Visit the IDDE Program page to see examples of illicit discharges.
