The Chesapeake Bay TMDL

Did you know that the Chesapeake Bay is on a “pollution diet”? There are pollutants entering the Bay in excessive amounts, leading to degraded aquatic habitats and loss of wildlife. This “diet”, known as Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL), will help ensure that the water quality of the Bay is restored and able support healthy communities.
