Sustainability Performance for Fiscal Year 2017

Sustainability at LaRC is not driven only by the Environmental Office.  It takes coordination and collaboration with key stakeholders around the Center to promote and integrate sustainable principles, to foster awareness and action for a more sustainable Center.

One of the ways LaRC builds on its sustainability program is by supporting  NASA Headquarters in executing the Agency’s sustainability policy and in meeting the goals of Executive Order (EO) 13693, Planning for Federal Sustainability in the Next Decade.  In accordance with the EO and NASA’s Strategic Sustainability Performance Plan (SSPP), LaRC actively works to meet ten sustainability goals that include efficiently managing power and water use, reducing greenhouse gasses, and using renewable energy.

Here is a look at LaRC’s sustainability goal progress for FY 2017:

LaRC’s employees are a key factor towards meeting these goals and encouraging the growth of sustainability at the Center, such as participating in Earth Day and Energy Action Month activities, submitting energy and sustainability project ideas, and recycling materials on Center.  So be on the lookout and stay tuned to this blog for more opportunities to get involved!
