Plastic Bag Recycling is Back! Oct 1 – 31

Plastic bag recycling collection efforts are back in observance of Energy Awareness Month! Drop off your bags anytime in October.

NASA Langley is continuing to work with the York/Poquoson Master Gardeners to recycle plastic bags and film packaging. Recycled materials can be transformed into composite benches that are placed in local schools or learning gardens!

Since the start of our plastic bag recycling efforts in April 2016, LaRC personnel have donated an outstanding total of 1,137 pounds! Our last recycling event done during the month of April 2019 set the record of 241 pounds of plastic collected.

You can drop off your clean, dry, empty plastic bag and plastic film materials in the designated collection boxes in the hallway of IESB from October 1 through 31. The following materials can be collected for recycling in the boxes (click flyer to enlarge):

The Standard Practice and Environmental Engineering Branch (SPEEB) and York/Poquoson Master Gardeners thank all LaRC personnel for their donations!
