- Daina Henry, the President of the Peninsula Master Naturalists, will provide information about the importance and benefits of trees. Come on April 18th at lunch and learn how to correctly plant and care for tress. And most importantly, how to avoid the “24 Ways to Kill a Tree”!
- Daina will also be part of our EXPO on the 23rd so make sure to come by. There will be a table with exhibits from fellow Master Naturalists and another table where you’ll learn about Water Quality Monitoring Efforts and how you can join!
- Heather Lockwood is the Virginia Oyster Restoration Specialist for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF). Are you interested in being an oyster foster parent? Come on April 25th at lunch and learn how to become an oyster gardener this year, even if you don’t have private access to a dock. Did you know Langley actually has an oyster reef along Back River where we will plant the gardened oysters? Heather will have a lot of specific information regarding our oyster restoration program in Virginia and ways you can help restore the oyster population. Come learn about ways you can assist CBF accomplish their mission to “Save the Bay”!
- The CBF will also participate in our EXPO the 23rd so be sure to go by their table, they might even have some Bay critters to take a look at!
