Green Roof Restoration! Earth Day 2019

Celebrate Earth Day by joining NASA Langley Research Center’s community effort to restore our green roof. Learn how NASA is using environmentally-friendly, ‘green’ energy technology and how you can too!

We are looking for volunteers that will sign up for 1 – 2 hours on Thursday, April 25th from 9 AM – 5 PM to help weed and plant new sedum on the Building 2101 green roof. Garden gloves, water, snacks, sunscreen and a brief safety training will be provided. Volunteers must be 18 or older to register, and should consult with their supervisor before signing up. Work involves squatting, kneeling, or bending over for a few hours at a time – please be aware of your physical limitations when registering.

Please sign up no later than April 10th through this link: tinyurl.com/NASAGreenRoof

For questions regarding the event, please contact Jessica Snyder at jessica.c.snyder@nasa.gov.

**Note: For those who have volunteered before, the green roof is looking a lot healthier than when we first started this restoration in 2016, and we’re just looking to give it a little more TLC. We appreciate everyone who has helped in the past, and would appreciate any help you can offer to make the roof the absolute best it can be!
