LaRC’s own Dr. Bruce Wielicki will be presenting on the need for a more accurate climate observing system:
Economic Value of a More Accurate Climate Observing System
We currently lack a global climate observing system. Why is that important? What would be the economic value of such a system? This presentation will summarize recent new research on this question that suggests a value of $10 to $20 Trillion U.S. dollars, along with an economic return on investment of roughly $50 per dollar invested. The talk will also discuss how we could fail to understand that such an opportunity exists.
