Waste Management

Solid wastes, waste water, and hazardous wastes are generated during processes at LaRC. These wastes must be managed in accordance with State and Federal laws to ensure safety for workers and protection of the environment. The Environmental Management Office (EMO) is responsible for coordinating proper solid waste management, hazardous waste management, and identifying the need for new compliance permits or modifying existing permits. LaRC also has an active recycling program. These recycling activities result in returned income to LaRC to be used for pollution prevention and recycling initiatives.
