Use Your Green Thumb to Lend a Hand!

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) and the City of Hampton are installing
two rain gardens at local city parks – Bluebird Gap Farm and Air Power Park. A rain garden is typically a planted depression that allows rainwater runoff from impervious areas (roofs, driveways, walkways, parking lots, and compacted lawn areas) the opportunity to be absorbed. Volunteers will help excavate soil and plant flowers and shrubs. Gloves, shovels, and other tools will be supplied.

Saturday, October 1
9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Meet at Air Power Park
413 W. Mercury Boulevard, Hampton

To sign-up, contact Tanner Council at tcouncil@cbf.org or 757-622-1964.

Note: This is not a NASA sponsored event. Our neighbor, the City of Hampton, has asked us to help promote this event to improve local water quality.
