We will be offering special training opportunities during the month of October 2015 to recognize Energy Action Month. Learn about energy conservation and efficiency improvements in your own home or learn about the concept of Net Zero energy for buildings. We’ll also be introducing Center employees to some of the tools available to monitor energy usage in their buildings.
SAVE $$ DIY Home Energy Audits
Tuesday, October 13th 10am-11am, IESB RM 201.
In this Energy Action Month training opportunity, the LaRC Energy Management team will show you how to go through your home step by step and identify ways to reduce your utility bills, saving money and energy. We’ll cover easy, no/low cost projects as well as more capital intensive projects such as solar photovoltaic installations and ground source heat pumps (aka “geothermal”). We’ll also present several case studies from LaRC personnel, including updates on Dr. Bruce Wielicki’s multi-year effort to maximize the energy efficiency of his Yorktown home. (See his popular 2011 presentation here.)
