LaRC continued its participation with the York/Poquoson Master Gardeners in collecting clean plastic bags and film for recycling. The donated material in observance of Earth Day/Arbor Day during April 2019 added up to 241 pounds of plastic, representing the largest collection to date!
These recycled plastic bags and films were added to local Master Gardener collection goals toward receiving an additional composite bench for possible placement at community parks, schools, or learning gardens.
When added to plastic bag recycling efforts since 2016, LaRC personnel have donated a total of 1,137 pounds!
The Standard Practice and Environmental Engineering Branch (SPEEB) and York/Poquoson Master Gardeners thank all who participated and look forward to our next collection planned for Energy Action Month in October 2019.
