Want to make your home more energy and water efficient AND save some money? Each year, Virginia has a 3-day sales tax holiday starting the first Friday in August. This year, the 3-day tax-free weekend is from August 3-5, 2018.
During the sales tax holiday, you can purchase qualifying Energy Star™ and WaterSense™ products without paying sales tax. These products can be purchased for noncommercial home or personal use, and have a limit of $2,500 or less per item.
During the 3-day sales tax holiday, you can also purchase school supplies, clothing, footwear, and products for hurricane and emergency preparedness! This includes some environmentally-friendly products, such as rechargeable batteries, photovoltaic devices that generate electricity, and school supplies made from recycled paper.
