Join in for a wide range of events exploring energy and water conservation!
This October, during NASA Langley’s Energy Action Month, employees are invited to participate in a wide range of events exploring energy and water conservation. Join the NASA Langley Energy Team in touring the Tidewater region’s most energy, water, and waste efficient commercial building; discovering the innovative water treatment process in Hampton Roads; observing the sustainable practices of Williamsburg’s local Anheuser-Busch brewery; and hearing experiences of utilizing electric vehicles, green roofs, home solar as well as Norfolk Academy’s solar initiative!

- Tour of Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Brock Environmental Center in Virginia Beach (Net Zero Energy/Water Waste Facility) on Oct. 9, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Lunch and Learn presentation by NASA Langley’s own Ruth Amundsen on Sustainability Initiatives: EVs, green roofs, and Solar on Oct. 15, 12 – 1 p.m. in the NACA Room (IESB, building 2102)
- Tour of HRSD SWIFT Research Center, Oct. 17, 10 – 12 p.m.
- Tour of the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Williamsburg on Oct. 25, 9 – 11 a.m.
- Assist with LaRC’s very own Butterfly Garden! Including some general weeding and installing a border, Oct 3, 2-4 p.m. (located behind the LaRC Community Garden)
- Plastic bag recycling in IESB throughout the month of October
- Assist with restoring the green roof on B2101, Oct 8- 12
