LaRC continued its participation with the York/Poquoson Master Gardeners in collecting clean plastic bags and film for recycling.
The donated material in observance of Energy Awareness Month during October 2019 added up to 307 pounds of plastic, representing the largest collection to date!
These recycled plastic bags and films were added to local Master Gardeners collection goals toward receiving an additional composite bench for possible placement at community parks, schools, or learning gardens.
Through collection events during April and October, LaRC personnel have donated a total of 1,444 pounds!
